If the devils are giving up Palmieri, they're getting back ristolainen. Not the 3 other plugs you mentioned

Palmieri is the guy whom Tortorella picked over Phil Kessel for the American team in the 2016 World Cup. While that was done purely out of spite and his hatred for the Penguins and Kessel is obviously better it doesn't change the fact that Palmieri is a solid player. Bitterill[sic] is going to have to give up a lot more than that for him.

There is another team friendly year with Palms and another couple team friendly years with wood... and you think a journeymen defenseman and a couple of hot farts are going to net you both?

Apparently our GM feels the same way. That’s why the Buffalo GM hasn’t actually made any moves.

Sheary, Miller & Bogosian for Simmonds, Wood & Vatanen. Miller points per game is very close to Vatanen's prior Miller joining the Sabres. Miller's contract also plays out better than Wood's at this point in time. Bogosian for Simmonds is a wash. Shero was high on Sheary in Pittsburgh. Two UFAs going in each direction. A "reset" or change of scenery deal for players going each way in deal.

So Shero wants to upgrade the D so he is going to trade our best defenseman for 2 D who can’t stay in Buffalo’s lineup? + a young power forward with untapped potential under team control for years? I’d also rather have Simmonds on this team than Sheary. We’re all set with small forwards as it is, I don’t think we’ll be getting rid of Simmonds and Wood to add Sheary up front and 2 D that would make our D worse.

No thanks.

So you are saying the Devils wouldn't want to trade some of their better players for spare parts from Buffalo? Miller is a game changer. So much so, he can't even get into a mediocre Sabres lineup. I believe djc1877 is Garths burner account

Buffalo has nothing that interests me as a Devils fan that they'd be willing to give up. Moving Palmieri for any of those mentioned parts would just set the dial back further.

If I'm Jason Botterill, I'm trading disgrutled right defenseman Colin Miller, forward Evan Rodrigues, and Buffalo's 2020 second round pick in exchange for Kyle Palmieri and Miles Wood.

This is great😂😂😂

Hey Garth. Microsoft word has spellcheck built into it. There is no excuse for the amount of typos in your articles. It’s almost like you are borderline illiterate. Have a little pride in your work ffs. Be a goddam professional for once in your life.

Hire an editor to revise your drivel before you post it please. You have such sloppy grammar and so many spelling errors that I am baffled why someone actually pays you for your drivel. Man up Garth and get some professionalism

Happy New Year! Wow, what a bunch of angry nit-picking tools. Eh?

I’d have to agree with the Devil fan in regards to the offer presented by Garth though. I’m sure the Sabres would except that offer as it would clearly benefit them and is highly unrealistic. The Sabres are getting close and need to think big. I like the thought of them being aggressive on Hall if that were true.

But if I was JB, I would start by trying to unload Okposo’s contract, Mittlestadt, and Miller or Bogosian as well as a first round pick. As much as I like each of those players game. We need not just a top six forward, but a top three to elevate Johansson and Skinner.

While I understand how unrealistic it would be, most local fans would go out of their minds if the Sabres could bring home the best local player in modern NHL history.

To do this, I’d offer the Hawks:

Risto, Mitts, Okposo, and a second for Patty Kane, a bottom nine grinder, and third round pick.

If that wouldn’t get it done;
Dahlin, Mitts, and Okposo for Kane and second.

Than let the Hawks go out and sign Hall.

Win, win.

As much as I like both Risto and Dahlin, I’d part with either if we could bring home Patrick Kane.

I don’t usually comment on writing errors, but this blog is a train wreck. There’s no way you don’t notice two or three of these while you’re typing.

I do believe there is a trade to be made with the Devils or Blackhawks, but it probably includes the younger Buffalo D with term. I think Pilut could use the full year in the minors, but he makes 9 NHL ready D.

You would give up Dahlin and Mitts for 31 year old Patrick Kane? Thank (frank)ing God you are not the GM.. Are you (frank)ing serious?

Mannnnn I LOVE Garf’s blogs. I imagine him slowly and methodically writing them down with a variety of colourful crayons, taking extra care to keep his printing inside the margins.

I was starting to worry that we wouldn’t get a classic Garf trade proposal, but he snuck it in at the end. And MAN was it ever worth the wait.

I’m not Frank, nor am I (frank)ing kidding. 😁

So yes, I’d trade Dahlin if I could get Pat Kane. I’d prefer to trade Risto or as previously mentioned by someone else, Pilot. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Risto and Dahlin.

While Kane is 31, he’s still got at least 5 strong years left with 80 plus points. How many of those years will Dahlin ever get to. 60? Kane is champion, and if he could help the Sabers win a cup in Buffalo, his legacy would only increase.

I was disappointed as well with the Skinner contract. 7 to 7.5 would have been ideal. And, I also like Skins and believe he is an integral part of the organization going forward. Just not at 9 million.

The key would be to move Okposo at 6 million with one of our better d-man. And yes, if it meant Mitts or another high end prospect such as Asplund or Olgivie, I would.

Mitts just has a higher ceiling. No doubt, he will breakout one of the next few seasons.

So I guess if you disagree, for your sake, it is good that I’m not GM, because I would have attempted to traded the first overall pick at the draft to Hawks for Kane if they would bite.

As exceptional as Dahlin’s offensive skill is and will be, i simply value a forward who can regularly put up over 80 plus points over a 60 point offensive defensemen.

If the sabres could roll out two top lines with:

Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhardt
Skinner-Johansson-Kane

A number of D on the team and in the system not named Dahlin would naturally have increased productivity.

But then again I’m not a business major or the GM, just a dude and fan tired of a team not making the playoffs who thinks ’talk is cheap’.
